The Berbers of Beni Ouarain of Morocco and some tribes near the Moroccan Middle Atlas are weavers at the origin of distinctive carpets which are characterized by their large size and an archaic aspect very design and very sought after. These are the famous Moroccan Beni Ouarain rugs.
The wool comes from the sheep of mixed herds. Indeed, a flock could mingle several sheep breeds, around the ancient race named Marmoucha. Knotted on a woolen frame most often, old Beni Ouarain carpets have long remained confined in the Berber tents north of the Middle Atlas of Morocco.
The wives of the tribes Beni Ouarain knew how to harvest the wool of the sheep, selecting the one that was the softest and most silky. This harvesting could take several years, before gathering enough wool for the carpet to be made.
Also this carpet fluffy and deep and very soft. Is a very good state, luxuriously feel comfortable and soft under slightly creamy feet weaves. It is given a great neutral charm to suit a variety of space.
